Women’s Cross Country Signs Matsunaga for 2010

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – University of Montevallo cross country head coach Michael Marquardt announced the signing of In-Mi Matsunaga for the 2010 season. Matsunaga will join the seven returning runners as they compete in their second season in the Peach Belt Conference.

“I’m excited to add In-Mi to the women's team,” said coach Marquardt. “In-Mi knows she is going to have to work hard day in and day out because we are returning seven of our eight runners from last year's squad. I believe she will also improve because she will have a really good team to train with and most importantly because of her love for running. I also expect her to be in that top 20 range at the Conference Championships.”

Matsunaga attended Enterprise High School in Enterprise, Alabama. She holds a personal record of 20:08 in the 5k and qualified for the state meet in 6A. She was named her team captain both her junior and senior seasons.

The Falcons are coming off their most successful season in team history and with the addition of Matsunaga and the returning seven runners the Falcons will look to continue to break records and make their way to the top of the PBC and Southeast Region.
